Andrew Woodford
Nutrition Agronomist
Experience and Expertise
Based in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, Andrew Woodford works across a diverse range of growing regions — from the Granite Belt to the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay — helping horticultural producers strengthen the link between soil health and crop resilience. As a Nutrition Agronomist, Andrew brings decades of hands-on experience in understanding what plants need to thrive in challenging environments. His deep technical knowledge and curiosity drive him to continually refine nutrient management programs that deliver stronger, more balanced crops.
Approach and Philosophy
Andrew approaches agronomy with a clear goal: to make plants less dependent on intervention and more capable of thriving naturally. He believes that healthy, balanced soils create resilient systems that can weather disease, drought, and market fluctuations. One of the standout moments in his career came back in 1996 while working in the Lockyer Valley, where he witnessed how naturally balanced soils produced healthier crops without the need for constant correction — a lesson that continues to shape his work today. Seeing growers gain confidence as they witness this transformation firsthand is what keeps Andrew motivated and inspired.
Beyond the Field
Outside of work, Andrew brings the same passion for growth to his personal life. A former beekeeper, he still finds joy in cultivating life — growing food for his family and tending to his own piece of land. That connection to the natural world fuels his belief that good farming isn’t just about productivity — it’s about harmony, stewardship, and leaving the soil better than you found it.
