As the harvest approaches/concludes, it is essential to keep focus on the important strategies that will ensure NEXT year's crop   is a great success. 

A tree's natural system is incredibly intelligent. After the crop is picked, a plant moves into "next crop" mode, with hormonal systems stimulating root growth and beginning to store nutrients ready for its next growth flush. The intelligence of this system has been highlighted by research that showed that plants build up a concentration of nutrients - including foliar-applied nutrient - around the bud, giving the greatest opportunity for healthy, strong growth bursting forth in the new season. 

It is universally agreed that a good nutrient program immediately after harvest will improve next season's crop potential. 

The most effective post-harvest programs are based on the principle that a plant retreating into dormancy requires a hormonal stimulation and broad spectrum nutrition, rather than just a simple nitrogen boost.
